Sweet Pea was our family’s first Aussie. She was from a horse farm, with a pedigree going back to old working lines. My dad took my seven year old son, Dave, to pick out a pup! Dave returned with a little black tri who worshiped him for 14 years.

Sweet Pea was a smaller, compact, athletic Aussie with very moderate coat. She was smart as a whip, and tough as nails!! She sure loved her family including my parents, Rich, myself, and of course her boy, David!!

Sweet Pea could be reserved with strangers. She played with our other dogs and even let the farm cat ride on her back. With chores, like bringing in the horses to their stalls daily, you only needed to ask her once and she understood. Sometimes you never had to ask; she just read your mind!

She once helped my dad pull out logs and sticks from the creek after a storm. She watched him pull out two, and then she went in and began to pull them out along side him.

Sweet Pea truly was one of the “old time” aussies. She is what I will continue to breed towards, and the standard I will measure future generations against!
